This is and excerpt from the beginning of a story I have been working on called "Train Story":
"He got on the train with a sort of
ease he couldn’t really explain. He took the seat closest to the window in the
third row. Amsterdam had been his home since he was three and he couldn’t
remember where he had been before that. He was in the middle of his life with a
divorce under his belt. Not exactly how he had planned for the fifties to begin
but in his mind maybe it was the best thing that could have happened. Marcy was
a pain and he was just fine with her making him broke. To new beginnings, he
thought."
